Who played Fred Rogers in the 2019 film A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD?

A troubled journalist is assigned to profile a television icon in the 2019 film that TIME magazine named one of the year’s ten best. It was inspired by a 1998 article in ESQUIRE titled “Can You Say … Hero?” The film starred Matthew Rhys (DEATH COMES TO PEMBERLEY) as Lloyd Vogel, a journalist initially suspicious of Rogers but one who became friends with the PBS personality.

Fred Rogers was played by an Academy Award-winning actor who earned an Oscar nomination for his performance (he lost to Brad Pitt in ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD).
