Hey, It’s Photo Friday!

This is the rundown sheet for a taping of FRONT ROW. The former Friday night public affairs staple was recorded live in our studios on Fridays (sometimes earlier if it was a holiday), mere hours before it was broadcast. To keep things topical, of course. I spied this rundown attached to the cameras the night before one of the tapings and snapped this pic.

We stopped airing FRONT ROW in early 2023, replacing it with our own STATE LINES.

What’s on TV? The answer here seems to be NC THIS WEEK. But there’s two things you need to know – this isn’t a real TV screen and we haven’t broadcast this public affairs series since the 90s.

NORTH CAROLINA THIS WEEK was a local show we produced for many years. It effectively wrapped up the weeks political and current events in with a roundtable discussion on Friday nights. Such programming has lived on in the likes of LEGISLATIVE WEEK IN REVIEW, FRONT ROW and now STATE LINES. The show was hosted by Ted Harrison, Bob Garner and possibly others. If you’ve been watching our airwaves for long enough you may remember those names.

The artwork below, the show’s logo on a non-functioning television screen, hangs in one of our production areas. Not sure who put it together but it seems like something someone might have created during some downtime with some junk equipment that was laying around. As is, it’s a fond memory of shows long gone by.
