WORLD ON FIRE is back for season two on MASTERPIECE. The British war drama follows the intertwined lives of ordinary civilians across Europe who are caught up in World War II. There are definitely some familiar faces but I’m only mentioning those from the current series so, sorry, no Helen Hunt, Arthur Darvill or Sean Bean this go round.
Jonah Hauer-King plays translator Harry Chase. He was also Max Mallowan in Agatha Christie And The Curse Of Ishtar, Laurie Laurence in Little Women and Paul Wilcox in Howards End.
Lesley Manville portrays Robina Chase, Harry’s mother. She recently played Susan Ryeland in Magpie Murders. Some years back. Manville was Mrs. Rose in Cranford and Villy Cazalet in The Cazalets.
