Flashback: 14 September 1989

Are you a longtime viewer? That being the case, you may have been watching our airwaves 34 years ago today. If so, this is what you may have seen…

The early evening staples NEWSHOUR and NBR kicked off the night. At 7:30, the science series INNOVATION headed down under to have a look at fossils. Science continued at 8pm with THE NATURE OF THINGS, a Canadian program hosted by David Suzuki. Following that, MYSTERY! was up at 9pm with an Inspector Morse adventure (newer devotees of British drama may not recall that Thursday night was MYSTERY! night for quite a few years). The one/off special CARNEGIE: THE MAVERICK MILLIONAIRE followed at 10pm with the Britcom GOOD NEIGHBORS at 11pm. Our broadcast day ended with the UK soap EASTENDERS (airing most weeknights in those days) at 11:30pm.
