FINDING YOUR ROOTS is a family history and genealogical documentary series that is now in its ninth season on PBS. The series uses written records and DNA testing to discover the family history of well-known Americans. Guests receiving the impressively compiled “book of life” include Martha Stewart, Ken Burns, Deepak Chopra, Maya Lin, Questlove and John Leguizamo. Of course, many more have been seen talking with the series’ host as he reveals a past heretofore unknown.

The host, in case you need hints, has presented several PBS series, such as AFRICA’S GREAT CIVILIZATIONS and THE AFRICAN AMERICANS: MANY RIVERS TO CROSS. Currently, the learned gentleman is the Alphonse Fletcher University Professor and Director of the Hutchins Center for African & African American Research at Harvard University. Impressive resume, by any account.

So what is his name? Who is the host of the PBS series FINDING YOUR ROOTS?
