Louisiana Fairytale was the original theme song to what long-running PBS series?

You might be forgiven for not immediately knowing the title “Louisiana Fairy Tale.” The music was composed by Haven Gillespie, Mitchell Parish and J. Fred Coots and is a standard performed by many Dixieland bands. A version by jazz artist Fats Waller was used initially as the theme song to a well-known how-to series. [I should note that I have found lyrics to the song online but I don’t think they were part of the original composition and the show’s tune was definitely instrumental.] Other theme songs have been used for the series since “Louisiana Fairytale” was retired around the turn of the century but, for many, it remains forever linked to the show.
