Wednesday Trivia Question

What Oscar-nominated American actress played tourist Beth Traywick on DOC MARTIN?

Now that DOC MARTIN is back (at last!) for its final seasons, I thought I try a trivia question about the fan-favorite series. Lots of great fun facts and miscellanea about the hemophobic healer to dish out but I’ll stick with a simple one.

The story, as its been told, is that this particular veteran American actress made a guest appearance on DOC MARTIN in 2015 due to her decades-long friendship with Selina Cadell (Mrs. Tishell). She played an American Tourist named Beth Traywick (and repeated the role a few years later).

The actress has appeared on stage in everything from Shakespeare to Sondheim, on television in guest spots and starring roles and on the big screen in blockbuster movies and indie films. She won a BAFTA and two Golden Globes. She’s been nominated for several EMMY Awards and three Academy Awards. She’s appeared in and arguably best known for a couple of famous film franchises but with nearly 100 credits to her name on the Internet Movie Database you could know her from any number of things.

So who is it? Who is the Oscar-nominated American actress that played tourist Beth Traywick on DOC MARTIN?
