Our Speaker Today

Last year, I shared some commencement speeches delivered by a few folks with ties to PBS and public broadcasting. Seems like a good idea to repeat the exercise so today and over the next few weeks I will post some past addresses to young grads by familiar faces who have graced our airwaves.

This week, we jump back three years to 2018 when PBS NEWSHOUR anchor and managing editor Judy Woodruff spoke to the graduating class at Wisconsin’s Ripon College (after receiving an honorary degree herself). She aims for 11 minutes in English but gives us much more, including a lesson on civil discourse in divided times. See for yourself…
