What? No Singing?

Les Misérables is coming to Masterpiece! Earlier this week, Masterpiece and BBC One announced the ensemble cast for a new epic adaptation of Les Misérables.

Andrew Davies (House of Cards, Mr Selfridge) will write the series, exploring the many layers of Victor Hugo’s original novel. Dominic West (The Affair) will star as Jean Valjean and David Oyelowo (MI-5) as Javert. Other players include Lily Collins, Adeel Akhtar, Olivia Colman, Ellie Bamber, Josh O’Connor and Erin Kellyman.

The series is scheduled to begin production next month. No air date is set as yet but I’ll let you know as soon as I hear anything.

Sounds Familiar

“In thinking of America, I sometimes find myself admiring her bright blue sky – her grand old woods – her fertile fields – her beautiful rivers – her mighty lakes and star-crowned mountains. But my rapture is soon checked when I remember that all is cursed with the infernal spirit of slaveholding and wrong – when I remember that with the waters of her noblest rivers, the tears of my brethren are borne to the ocean, disregarded and forgotten, that her most fertile fields drink daily of the warm blood of my outraged sisters, I am filled with unutterable loathing.” – Frederick Douglass (Morgan Freeman), The Civil War

Hey, It’s Photo Friday!

Any time you’re in a broadcast facility you may see a sign like the one below. If it’s lit up, be very quiet because someone is – you guessed it – recording.
