Midsomer Murders strikes again. The episode (part one of “Death In A Chocolate Box”) saw DCI Barnaby investigating murder in a village inhabited by ex-cons and featured a few guest stars notable for appearances elsewhere on UNC-TV’s services. See if you spotted them all.
Clare Higgins played counselor Gina Colby. If you recognized Higgins, it could be from one of her 1980s Masterpiece Theatre roles. She was Miss Kitty Bennett on Pride And Prejudice, Christine Manson on The Citadel and Rachel Lucas on After the War.
Christopher Fairbank portrayed reformed ex-con Ronnie Tyler. Fairbank also played Groby on a 2009 Masterpiece Classic adaptation of Tess of The D’Urbervilles.
Chris Barrie was Lionel Poulter, the village postman. Barrie is best known for playing Arnold Rimmer (or, rather, his hologram) on the sci fi comedy Red Dwarf.
Lastly, Marcia Warren played Melissa Shrike. Warren should be familiar to fans of the Britcoms The Café and Vicious, as she played Alice Dobson in the former and Penelope in the latter.
“Death In A Chocolate Box” concludes Saturday night at 8 on UNC-TV.
