What’s happening, what’s on and what’s interesting this week …
Frontline shares first-person stories of refugees and migrants fleeing war and persecution for Europe. Tune in Tuesday night at 9 on UNC-TV for “Exodus.”
The December 23rd episode of NPR’s On The Media featured a very interesting discussion on the nature of time – with the inevitable but welcome Doctor Who reference.
Sherlock Holmes is back for New Year’s! 2017 finds the mercurial detective back once more on British soil, as Watson and his wife, Mary, prepare for their biggest challenge yet: becoming parents. Don’t miss season four of Sherlock, beginning Sunday night at 9 on UNC-TV.
New Year’s Day also brings two distinct marathon choices: one for music lovers and one for folks making the most of their resolutions. On The Explorer Channel, go inside the recording industry and catch all eight episodes of the fantastic series Soundbreaking. On UNC-TV, join Suze Orman, David Perlmutter, Daniel Amen and more for our Healthy Resolutions Marathon. The Soundbreaking Marathon airs Sunday from 2pm to 8pm on UNC-EX and the Healthy Resolutions Marathon runs 9am to 6pm on UNC-TV.
And it seems that a week doesn’t go by without Neil deGrasse Tyson blowing our minds by saying things like there’s a very high chance our universe may be a simulation.
