What’s happening, what’s on and what’s interesting this week …

The holiday season continues with specials galore. Tuesday night at 9, tune into our North Carolina Channel for Holidays at Murray State – a one hour sojourn in sight and sound through Murray State University and the Purchase area of western Kentucky.

If there’s anyone deserving of a statue it’s Fred Rogers. The late Mr. Rogers was honored with the bronze likeness in his hometown of Latrobe, Pennsylvania. The statue of Rogers, clad in trademark sweater and tennis shoes, was unveiled in a public ceremony earlier in the month.

Thursday night, the Raleigh Ringers bring a delightful reverence to the holiday season with a UNC-TV favorite. Don’t miss Raleigh Ringers: One Winter Evening at Meymandi – Thursday at 10 on UNC-TV.

Sherlock‘s Martin Freeman stopped by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert last week to talk of his various roles and – amusing or unfortunately (depending on your view) – racy fan art.

Friday night, Live From Lincoln Center is building a bridge between cultures and artistry. Join award-winning, world-famous violinist Joshua Bell for Joshua Bell’s Seasons of Cuba. Friday night at 9 on UNC-TV.

And finally: Helen Mirren plays with puppies. That’s right – Helen Mirren plays with puppies!
