Known for his Cajun-inspired cooking, humor and storytelling, what was the name of the chef who hosted the long-running how-to series Louisiana Cookin’?
Fans of cooking shows may remember this Louisiana original quite fondly. Even casual acquaintances of the genre are probably familiar with his work, having seen the Cookin’ Cajun on TV and in bookstores (he authored several cookbooks and even appeared in commercials for Ruffles Cajun Spice Potato Chips). Sadly, he passed away in 2001, but not before he made his indelible mark on our airwaves.
But who was he? Justin Wilson was his name. With his customary “Hi y’all are” greeting, Wilson spread good humor, amazing Cajun creations and an “I garontee” attitude to PBS audiences for years.
