What is the name of Oscar the Grouch’s pet worm?
Fans of Sesame Street probably know the character very well. His diminutive size hasn’t kept him from accomplishing great things, not the least of which is a moon landing in the late 1990s. Of course, his greatest feat is being the best friend of Sesame Street’s resident curmudgeon. But what’s this worldly worm’s name? It’s Slimey. The light and dark orange striped worm was introduced in the early 80s and has since gained a host of worm friends and family, including the worms that accompanied Slimey to the moon in a classic set of episodes from season 29.
With that in mind, I’ll leave you with Tony Bennett’s appearance on Sesame Street singing an ode to the astro-worm’s bravery called “Slimey To The Moon.”
