Hey, It’s Photo Friday!

A look behind the scenes at UNC-TV this week.

I snapped a few pictures of rooms that are vital to the production of what you see on your television set. Some of these rooms are rarely seen by visitors to UNC-TV. (A few are rarely seen by some staff members.)

We’ll start out with Master Control. Trust me – anything you see on your TV is most likely broadcast from this room.

Next, let’s drop by one of our Production Control Rooms. From this area, the UNC-TV crew might direct a live pledge break, North Carolina Now or The Woodwright’s Shop.

Now, let’s take a peek at one of the many edit suites used to create original programming. If it isn’t live, it gets edited by someone in this room or one much like it.

Finally, we pop in on an small, out of the way booth where audio is recorded for on-air use. I’d bet a great number of UNC-TV staffers couldn’t locate this room on a bet.
