What Academy Award-nominated actor played Jamal’s dad on Ghostwriter?
This is obscure, so give yourself a break if you don’t know. Chances are, if you haven’t seen the program since it originally aired, you may have no idea this actor was even attached.
It was Samuel L. Jackson.
At the time, the actor wasn’t the household name I think he is today. But he played Reggie Jenkins, Jamal’s father, in several episodes of “Ghostwriter” in 1992. Several years later, he was nominated for a Best Supporting Oscar for his role in “Pulp Fiction.” I think it’s safe to say “Pulp Fiction” was his breakout role (although he had been acting since the 70s) and where most moviegoers came to know him.
